Sphinx Moth Caterpillars

This spring I planted several Sacred Datura plants hoping to attract Sphinx moths.  The trick worked and now there are a dozen or so Sphinx moth caterpillars pretty much defoliating one of the Datura plants.

    1. I’m not sure of any connection. I just thought it was fascinating. After I took the video I did brush the ants off the caterpillar in order to give it a chance. I figured the ants have lots to choose from so I played the Hand of God and intervened, as the scientist, to see what the outcome would be.
