A couple months ago, I set a trail camera at the entrance of a desert tortoise den. The tortoise came and when a few times, often during the heat of the day. Based on her morphology, she’s likely a female. She shares her den with a rock squirrel and a packrat.
It surprised me that she shared the den with a squirrel and a pack rat. Loved the video.

Yeah, there appears to be no conflict. Apparently tortoises and rattlesnakes will share burrows too!

Happy you enjoyed it! She’s pretty big, so I’m guessing over 10 -15 years. I’ll try and confirm with my tortoise biologist friends.
